FAQ
FAQ
Precision testing, results you can act on.
How do I collect and send a sample correctly?
We email you a submission form and sample-specific collection guidelines before you send anything. For water samples that means sterile bottles and a maximum transit time of 24 hours; for soil it means sealed, labelled bags with a note of depth and location. If you are unsure, ring us before you collect. A badly collected sample cannot be re-run without going back to site.
How long will my results take?
Standard turnaround is five working days from the day we confirm receipt of your sample. Asbestos identification is three working days. If you need results faster, ask when you submit and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible for your particular test. We do not offer a blanket rush service because not every test can be accelerated without compromising accuracy.
What payment methods do you accept?
We invoice on completion of the report. Payment is by bank transfer or card. Private individuals and first-time clients are asked to pay on receipt of invoice before the report is released. Established clients on account terms are invoiced monthly. We do not accept cash.
Can I drop a sample off in person rather than posting it?
Yes. The lab is at 7-14-7 Machiya, Arakawa City, Tokyo 116-0001. Drop-offs are accepted Monday to Friday 8:30 to 17:00 and Saturday 9:00 to 12:30. Please bring your completed submission form. If you are driving a long distance, call ahead to make sure someone is available to receive a time-sensitive sample.
Do you provide expert witness or litigation support reports?
We do, for an additional fee. Litigation-support reports follow a different format, include a statement of independence, and are written to be read by a non-specialist court or tribunal. If you need this, tell us at the point of submission so we format the work correctly from the start rather than retrofitting a standard report.
