Using this site
Lank CoreLab publishes this site to explain what we test and how to submit a sample. Reading it commits you to nothing. A testing contract starts when we accept your sample and confirm the order by email.
Quotes and sample acceptance
Prices on the services page cover the standard panels. Anything else is quoted within one business day. We can refuse a sample that arrives leaking, unlabelled, in the wrong container, in insufficient volume, or without a completed chain-of-custody form, and we will tell you why on the day it arrives.
Chain of custody
Every sample must arrive with our chain-of-custody form or an equivalent record naming who collected it, when, and how it was stored. We record the time of receipt, the temperature of chilled samples and the condition of seals. A gap in the record is noted on the report.
Turnaround
Standard turnaround is five working days from acceptance. A rush service is available for most panels at the surcharge quoted. If an instrument fault or a subcontracted test delays a report, we tell you before the due date.
Reports and their limits
A report states the result for the sample as received, by the method named, with its measurement uncertainty. It is not a statement about the whole site, batch or supply the sample came from, and it is not a regulatory approval, certificate of compliance or medical opinion. Interpretation notes are offered in good faith to help you read the numbers.
Retesting and disputes
A retained portion of each sample is kept for thirty days after the report. If you question a result within that time we will retest the retained portion; the retest is free if our result was wrong and charged at the panel price if it is confirmed. After thirty days a fresh sample is needed.
Prices, payment and tax
Prices are in Japanese yen and exclude consumption tax. Established clients are invoiced on report delivery and pay within fourteen days. New clients pay when the sample is accepted. Reports may be withheld until an overdue invoice is settled.
Sampling by us
For water, indoor-air and soil panels we can collect the sample ourselves. A site visit inside Tokyo's 23 wards is charged at the flat call-out fee quoted; further afield we quote travel at cost. You arrange access and tell us about anything on site that affects safety, such as confined spaces or livestock. Samples we collect carry our own chain-of-custody record from the moment of collection.
Rush service
Rush turnaround means the report is issued within two working days of acceptance for the panels marked as eligible on the services page. It is available only for samples accepted before noon and is charged at the surcharge quoted with the order. If we cannot meet the rush deadline, the surcharge is not charged.
Sample disposal
Unless you ask for it back, the retained portion is disposed of under our waste procedures thirty days after the report. Hazardous materials such as asbestos samples are disposed of through a licensed contractor and cannot be returned.
Copyright
The articles and photographs on this site are our own work. Link to them freely; ask before reproducing them. Reports are issued for the client's own use and may be quoted in full but not edited.
Liability
To the extent permitted by Japanese law, our liability for any loss connected with a test or with this site is limited to the fee paid for the panel concerned. We are not liable for decisions taken on a result used outside the limits stated in the report.
Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of Japan. Any dispute will be brought before the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
